    Many of us have heard of the amazing benefits associated with taking fish oil supplements. Fish oil is most definitely known most for its powerful Omega-3 vitamins, but without an understanding of those crucial vitamins you can never truly understand why fish oil is so important after all. EPA and DHA Fish oils are a very important and helpful way to keep our mind and bodies functioning correctly for the longest period of time possible.

    Most of us are even incredibly aware that the primary source of these health benefits is the Omega-3 acids found in them, what most of us don’t have much knowledge about are EPA and DHA. What are EPA and DHA anyway? I’m sure most of you have seen it on the bottle, etc. EPA and DHA are both types of Omega-3 fatty acids. DHA itself makes up about eight percent of brain matter and is the fundamental building block for the brain tissue, making up more physically then functionality of the brain. DHA is also incredibly important in the first two years of life for infants, included in most infant formulas it helps a baby’s mind to grow. While DHA helps to build up the brain, and keep it from diminishing, EPA is a very different thing. EPA is by some considered the very most essential aspect of the brain and nerve function and helps our mind make those connections with our body improving the way that our nerves send signals to our brain.
